Introducing… Naomi Hattler

I am Naomi and I am very passionate about the way yoga impacts our everyday lives and how it enriches the experience of life. My new home since last year is the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria. Currently, I am doing my Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Arts while working in a newly opened yoga studio together with my amazing teacher, who I did my 200h training with.

Yoga resonated with me the first time I entered a yoga studio in the age of 13 and when I had the honor to experience a very special Kundalini teacher training last July, I fell in love even more. This year, I will assist my teacher Clemens at his trainings in different locations in Europe and I certainly know, that this is only the beginning of the journey.

Naomi shares…

My favourite self care practice

Okay, this is a special one for you! When I feel a bit low in energy, I love bathing with alkaline bath salts. With this magical addition, your hot bath is not only relaxing but it also helps your body release acids and toxins, nourishing it with a lot of minerals in return.

Music that inspires me

You might already know the album, but still. I truly love all songs from “Aliento” by Danit . They make you daydream of the beauty of the world, and they might make you put some headphones on and slow dance through your living room. My lockdown lifesaver!

A tip that helped me trust in my teaching abilities

The mindset that helps me to teach confidently is to understand myself less as a teacher or instructor of a yoga session, but to rather to see myself as the mediator through with the ancient wisdom that lies within each asana, each pranayama exercise is transferred. So, to move away from the idea of teacher & students and to see the class as an experience for everyone in the room - including yourself.

Let the teaching happen through you.

How I like to connect in community

Something that I am currently exploring in a 4-week online course is the magic of cacao rituals, by the London-based Cacao Club. Ceremonial cacao is a beautiful Latin-American tradition and a plant medicine with numerous physiological and psychic effects. Even through Zoom sessions, sharing a cacao ceremony which mostly includes guided meditations or intuitive movements is pure magic. I would love to inspire you to try a cacao ceremony – maybe even one of my future sessions...

My favourite yoga ‘thing’

Yoga definitely taught be to be more gentle and loving with myself. So, this Christmas I gifted myself an ethically made yoga outfit, from the inspiring brand Girlfriend Collective. Their clothes are not only gentle on your body (soft & compressive) but also gentle on the planet (made from recycled plastics).

Where to find Naomi…

Naomi currently offers Hatha & Kundalini online classes. Usually in German, and in English on request. Don’t hesitate to contact her if you want to join for a session.

Interested in Kundalini Yoga? Naomi wholeheartedly recommends the teacher training she did - one which she will now co-host this year at Yoga Matsya Academy. The teaching is based on Tantric traditions and the origins of Hatha. “Clemens teaches with a lot of passion and shares profound wisdom and his love for yoga in a very authentic way”. You can find more information online at Yoga Matsya.

Stay updated & get inspired…
