HOW TAROT CARDS HELP RUN MY BUSINESS

What the cards can teach us…

tarot cards business

I was feeling somewhat uninspired today when writing this. The chattering in my mind wasn't helping my already lacking focus.

So I drew a card from Osho's Zen Tarot pack to spark some insight into what I was struggling to share.

Side note - this is a great tip if you're ever stuck with writing blog content, social media captions, guided meditations… Draw a tarot or oracle card and use this as inspiration for the theme of the task ahead.

I drew the minor arcana card of ‘Turning In’.

‘To develop the knack of taking a distance from the mind is one of the greatest blessings. It is what meditation is all about really - not chanting a mantra, or repeating an affirmation, but just watching, as if the mind really belongs to somebody else’.

Which of course was exactly what I needed to hear. I have been finding it challenging lately, both here in my writing, and in my meditation practice, to turn in. To disengage from the chattering in my head - it has been louder than usual.

So I guess drawing this card, writing this newsletter, was my cue to do just that.

To remind myself that the thoughts in my head are not me. That I am the observer and it is in my control to watch, rather than engage with, the busy-ness and distractions of my mind.

And maybe you needed to hear this too

That it is time to take the distance and watch the antic of your mind, rather than getting suck in amongst the traffic.

Hope this helps you for your week ahead.

Firstly, my favourite mystical marketing maven, Michelle Pellizon, has started a podcast for intuitive business entrepreneurs (If you're teaching your own yoga classes in any way shape or form, this is for you). My favourite episode so far is this one: learning from the successes/mistakes she made in her journey to building a community, and what she'd do differently. The advice is spot on and well worth a listen.

Shame and guilt are two very different things. Guilt can be constructive, shame never is. Building resilience against shame/self-judgement is a key tool for the emotional toolbox.

Ever thought about teaching corporate yoga? An interesting take (with some advice if you're looking to make this transition).
